Avon by the Sea, more commonly referred to as simply Avon, is a borough located in Monmouth County. Avon is tiny in size and population. Avon has an approximate population of 1,900 in its ½ square mile town. Of its small population only 42% of them are married. Interestingly, Avon is bordered on three of its sides by water. It borders the Atlantic Ocean to the East, Shark River to its South and Sylvan Lake to the North. It is also bordered by Belmar, Bradley Beach and Neptune. Although the town is small in size, it is very close to Belmar and Asbury Park which offer many things to do. For instance, you can swim, surf, crab, or fish in the ocean.
