Easy Divorce

Posted by Vincent C. DeLuca | Oct 19, 2020 | 0 Comments

What is an easy divorce? An easy divorce is a divorce that proceeds amicably.  An amicable divorce is called an uncontested divorce.  When the parties to a divorce proceeding agree to resolving all the issues a divorce can be processed quickly and relatively inexpensively.  An easy or uncontested divorce can be finalized in less than 6o days.

In order to process a divorce that quickly the parties will need to have prepared a marital settlement agreement, execute same and have the agreement filed with the court.  Prior to filing the agreement with the court, the parties will need to prepare and file a complaint for divorce.  The complaint for divorce officially commences the divorce proceeding in the eyes of the court.

An experienced divorce lawyer can help expedite the process and ensure that all the paperwork is filed with court correctly.  An easy divorce could cost as little as $2,000.00.

There are many benefits to processing an easy divorce in addition to the cost savings.  If you have children with your spouse an easy divorce will probably ensure that you will have the ability to continue to get along with that person and co-parent with that person effectively even after the divorce is finalized.  A contested or litigated divorce can have a devastating impact on young children and therefore if at all possible a litigated divorce should be avoided.

An experienced divorce mediator can also help facilitate an easy divorce.  The Ocean County divorce lawyers and mediators at the Villani and DeLuca law firm processes hundreds of divorces each year.  They are intimately familiar with the Judges in the Jersey Shore area and they will be able to help you answer any questions that you may have about the divorce process.
