Getting divorced with the assistance of a mediator is one of the fastest and least expensive ways to go through the divorce process.  If both parties cooperate and come to an agreement after one or two mediation sessions it is possible to resolve your divorce in about sixty days from the date of the first mediation.

The divorce mediator assists the parties in preparing the marital settlement agreement.  The mediator does not represent either party and cannot appear in court on either party's behalf.  Once the divorce mediation is completed and the parties have agreed on all terms, they then usually hire attorneys to assist with the actual processing of the divorce.
